Keeping Your Pet Safe This New Year

New Year means a lot of things. A time to celebrate with family and friends, enjoy delicious food, and a chance to look forward to new beginnings. However, New Year also means a lot of fireworks which can stress out our poor little dogs and cats at home.

While we want to enjoy all the New Year celebrations as much as we can, it is important to make sure our furbabies can enjoy the holiday as well. Here are some tips to help your pets ring in the New Year as stress free as possible.

1. Exercise early
Walking your dog before the festivities will be a great way to release all that pent up energy and calm him or her down.

2. Calming treats or thunder jacket
Before going out to party, why not give your pup an all natural calming treat or invest in a thunder jacket? This can help your pup become less anxious and feel more secure.

3. Keep them indoors
When the fireworks start, there will be smoke all around town which is not safe for our pets. Keep them indoors in an air-conditioned room. Not only will this help muffle the sound from outside, it will ensure that your pet breathes in clean air.

4. Keep them busy
Will you be out of the house until the early morning? Keep your pet occupied so they don't focus on what's happening outside.

Why not a long lasting chew or difficult puzzle toy filled with their favorite treats?
